about

Unlike most bands who play their songs live a few times before trying to record them, the False Dmitrys record songs while we write them and then try to figure out how to play them live later. Most of the time we can't, so our live performances are generally only loosely based on their pre-recorded versions and thus, they become mutated versions of what they once were. This Album contains some of these mutations, played as live as possible in our practice room one afternoon in february 2013 and then edited and mixed afterwards. We've also added a few sneaky overdubs and effects to make it sound a bit better but this album is about as close as we'll ever get to capturing our live sound.
